Dr. Engel is a Diplomat of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and maintains active membership status with the following associations: Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, California Dental Association, and Orange County Dental Society. Dr. Engel has extensive experience in Dental Implant Rehabilitation, CT Guided Surgical Design, and Complex Treatment Planning as well as Full Mouth Rehabilitation.

Tarek Aly, BDS, MBA, CVA

Tarek practiced Dentistry and Periodontal surgery while simultaneously working in Management and Marketing. He graduated as a dentist from Alexandria University in Egypt. He has a graduate certificate in Periodontics & Oral Medicine from the same University and a Diploma in Sales & Marketing from the American University in Cairo. He has an MBA from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas. Tarek has a CVA certification from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

His expertise includes Dental Support Organizations platform development and management, M&As, Business Valuation, Business Operations, and Dental Organizations Management.

He has written three publications and is currently working on a book addressing the management of dental practices and DSOs. He is currently the CEO / Co-founder of Modern Smiles (10 dental practice locations), a partner at Community Dental Partners (82 dental practice locations), the Co-founder of OrthoDent Management LLC (12 dental practice locations), and President/Founder of Precision Advisory LLC. Tarek is also a public speaker and competes in Toastmasters International. 

Erik Strang

Previously, Erik led a 100+ person team at Great Expressions Dental Centers, where he was responsible for the strategy, vision, and execution of the revenue cycle process and also completed 15 acquisitions in New York, New Jersey, and Georgia

Erik began his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young and later worked as a Senior Manager in the Transaction Advisory Services group at the firm

Christopher Balaban, DMD MSC FACD

VP of Clinical Affairs, Overjet

Dr. Christopher Balaban is a practicing dentist in Boston, MA and serves as Vice President of Clinical Affairs for Overjet - the industry leader in dental artificial intelligence. Dr. Balaban holds a master’s degree in Biomedical Science, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University’s Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where he held a faculty position in the department of general dentistry at the rank of Clinical Instructor. He is a member of the national dental honors society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and was recently appointed to fellowship by the American College of Dentists.

Dr. Balaban has written numerous articles on artificial intelligence and its application to dentistry which have been published in Compendium, IDH, IDT and JADA. Dr. Balaban is a leading contributor to the ADA’s seminal whitepaper on Augmented Intelligence where he leads the authorship of the ‘Clinical Use of Dental AI’ section.
